اشتُقّت من اسم محمد بن موسى الخوارزمي، عالم الرياضيات في القرن التاسع، ومن كتابه جاءت كلمة «الجبر» أيضًا.
"Algorithm" has Arabic roots. It comes from the name of al-Khwarizmi, the ninth-century mathematician. His book also gave us the word "algebra".
